Scarfing is an 8:1 process of making 4′ x 8′ sheet plywood into longer lengths. In this case, putting 3 sheets together to make up one long sheet of approximately 19 1/2′. The photos here show how to scarf all 12 sheets at one time by staggering the plywood 4″ apart and using a power hand planer and belt sander. Started at 9:00 am and ended at 1:00 pm.
