Last week we removed the 18’ Puget Island Skiff built by the late Kurt Nielsen. That same day, we moved our local TSCA The Lower Columbia River Raptors chapter skiff in my shop to finish.
Last summer our chapter put on the annual Wooden Boat Show here at the Elochoman Marina in Cathlamet, WA. The local Pacific Bank provided the material for this 12’ Salt Bay Skiff and over a 5 hour period that Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday our group built this skiff with the help of some locals walking the show.
Today we started the process of finishing this Salt Bay Skiff. We prepped and fiberglassed the bottom, stem and transom. Tomorrow we will apply faring compound to the entire exterior.
