This last weekend was the annual Port Townsend Wooden Boat Fest. This year Jody and I just drove up for the day. It was a long day because it’s a 4+ hour drive north up near the Olympic peninsula. We arrived Saturday around 9 am to thick fog and rain but by noon things started to clear off, and we had to start removing layers of clothing. For some reason this year’s show seamed smaller, less boats, fewer vendors and less people. Maybe the economy, the weather? Or maybe both. Nevertheless it was wonderful to be there taking in all the wonders of the festival and this old Victorian landmark.
On a side note I have to apologize for not moving forward very quickly on the Annapolis Wherry. At my age summer is a time for family and friends! Once the leaves start to turn their brilliant Fall colors I’ll fire up the shop’s wood stove and get hard at making sawdust once again. In the meantime enjoy the rest of your summer!!
