July 28 from 12:15 pm to 6:00 pm: milled ash, fir and cedar. Then disassembled the floors and sole and sanded to prep for fiberglass that will be taped to all interior seams.
July 29 from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm: fiberglass taped to all interior seams . . . very nasty job!!
July 30 from 8:15 am to 3:00 pm: installed aft deck, applied faring compound to the interior seams then prepped for faring and paint. Steamed ash gunwales and clamped them to the hull.
July 31 from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm: cut birdseye maple breasthook, fared the interior of the hull . . . very dusty job! Removed clamped ash gunwales, cut them to fit and installed them.
August 1 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm:
- Altered 3 spurs – recut them to fit.
- Drilled cuddy cabin electrical holes thru spurs.
- Drilled 1″ access hole thru port aft deck spurs.
- Planed port and starboard gunwales to be even with the top of each spur.
- Applied 1st coat of intreior paint and applied a coat of epoxy on the aft deck to seal it for self- bilgeing.
- Mixed up a small batch of wood flour epoxy to fill gunwale screw holes and imperfections.
