When Jody and I returned from the Boat Festival in Port Townsend, Washington, I put the boat back in the shop to add a few things and move towards really completing her.
The first thing I did was build and install a forward hatch along with two clear D. Fir hand rails on her forward deck. The rails will aid in walking around the narrow 7″ deck to lower and retrieve the anchor. I also gave the top coat off-white and the brightwork a sanding and applied another coat of varnish and paint. I will next move into the cuddy cabin and add a fresh water pump system to the galley, add some shelves in the galley and other areas, varnish the deck beams, paint the side walls and install a small propane fireplace.
