Today my friends and I milled an old growth log that was used for years to support a floating structure. It had lots of large spikes in it that needed to be removed before setting it up on the mill. Once on the mill, we cut all the 4×10 beam stock needed for all door and window headers. This is how we make lumber on Puget Island.
