March 17, 2011. Today we started Harry Bryan’s famous Ladybug Wheelbarrow Boat!
I already built the mold or jig when I built Harry’s boat for my 2 granddaughters. I will post a photo of the girls’ boat so you can see what the finished product will look like.
So today I set up the old jig on a set of level saw horses, then I made sure the jig was square with the world. Then I took seven (7) 1-1/8″x12″x8′ cedar planks down from the drying loft and plan to plane them to the proper thickness. The differences between this boat and the last is that I plan to put a cedar plank bottom or sole in this one rather than a sheet of 3/8″ plywood.
Tomorrow I will start planing because in 10 minutes I’m going to jump on “Rachel” and go spring Chinook fishing with my pals!
