February 12, 2012; 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, day #60. Today I built the deck toe and the cabin drip molding. Once they were fit I put the first coat varnish on all brightwork. This is the first of appox. 5-7 coats. At the end of this day, I have logged in 305.5 single, man-hours. Eider is basically built. It’s punch list time. For example, the companion way hatch, the cabin deck rails, the rudder, the cockpit benches, the wiring harness and the mast and boom along with installing the hardware. All of these are relatively simple and fun. By the end of this month, Eider won’t be ready to sail but could easily be launched.
