December 1, 2011; 8:30 am – 2:00 pm; day 27. Today I first added another coat of epoxy to the insides of the trunk panels. Then I took the centerboard blank and cut and planed it to its proper measurements. I then lined the balast hole with sheet lead and added some copper nails. This will act as the form for the 30 pounds of lead. I weighed out 30 pounds of lead, melted it and poured it in the hole. Once dry, I filled it flush with epoxy filler. I then fiberglassed it.
