This last week I added a few things to “Slough Coot”, our Dudley Dix design Cape Henry 21. On our return from sailing the San Juan Islands, I made a list of to do’s. I completed all but the last, which is a solar charging system! Once she was put away for the winter I fired up the wood stove and added a fresh coat of paint to her exterior and interior from the bottom of her keel to the top decks of her superstructure. Then moved to her interior.
This last Saturday Jody helped me fit the interior thermometer (Christmas gift) and replace the halyard cam-cleat to larger color coded Schaefer’s. The plan is to buy and install the solar charging system next. Then “Slough Coot” should be ready for Spring launch.
