Yesterday evening I put “Slough Coot” back on her trailer for this weekend’s Cathlamet Wooden Boat Show. I gave “Slough Coot” a fresh coat of bottom paint. Tomorrow, I’ll scuff sand the hull and add a coat of Pettit Jade Green.
This year a group of us from the Lower Columbia River Chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association will be building a 12’ Salt Bay Skiff (it’s a kit) with the help of kids at the show. We will start the assembly Saturday morning, complete it Sunday afternoon and then launch her. This Fall we’ll paint and finish her. We will raffle her and with the funds we hope to buy one or two more for the 2019 Boat Show.
