Saturday afternoon it was near 100 degrees so the wind was coming from the East (not normal) blowing about 5-6 knots! Here are a few shots of Slough Coot making way under sail.

Dudley Dix – Cape Henry 21: Teak Bases for Cleats
This last week I believe I completed the last structural build on “Slough Coot”. This last piece was building the solid teak bases for three brass cleats – two for the mainsheet traveler and one near the center of the aft deck for the painter-line that will tow the dinghy.

Today I built and installed the bench seat and sealed the ribs, inwales and bench with clear epoxy.

Today I built and fit the plank ribs, inwales, hard wood (Purple Heart) oarlock mounts and the s.s. bow “D” ring. Tomorrow I’ll build the bow to stern bench seat, then sand and seal the days work with epoxy.
