March 16, 2012; 10:00 am – 2:30 pm; day #73. Today I drilled the mast timber to fit the tabernacle. Then I shaped the fir mast timber to the plan specs and put the first coat of varnish on.

Eider: Preparing for the Mast
March 2, 2012; 9:00 am – 1:30 pm; day #70. Today, I mounted the two chain plates for the port and starboard mast stays. Mounted the bow roller and the pintels on the retractable rudder. I then ripped the mast timber and glued and clamped it. I also glued and clamped up the bow sprit.
