Dudley Dix – Cape Henry 21: Sunrise on the Columbia
Here is a sunrise shot making way up the Columbia to one of our favorite Steelhead spots. You can see Mt. St. Helens in the background. Also a shot of “Slough Coot” back in the water after building her a new bowsprit and Bobstay! She will get her new mainsail in mid August.

Today I added the third coat of paint on both the bowsprit and gaff. Tomorrow I’ll install the bowsprit anchor mounts, hang the anchor and, if all goes well, put her back in the water.

This last week I believe I completed the last structural build on “Slough Coot”. This last piece was building the solid teak bases for three brass cleats – two for the mainsheet traveler and one near the center of the aft deck for the painter-line that will tow the dinghy.
