January 13, 2012. Last night, this morning and this afternoon I took a couple of hours putting 3 coats of paint on the underside of the plywood deck.

January 12, 2012; 8:30 am-2:30 pm; day 46. Today I cut and fit the double 1/4″ plywood deck. Once I had it planed and fit, I removed it and painted the under side. One coat today and another tomorrow.

January 11, 2012; 9:00 am – noon; day 45. I removed the clamps that held the gunwale clamps in place, as the glue dried over night. Then I mixed up some epoxy filler for bung plugs for plugging the countersink gunwale clamp screw holes. Then, I faired the gunwale clamps and added 3 supports, two…

January 10, 2012; 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm; day 44. I put the 1st coat of varnish on the fir superstructure and the redwood galley. Then I cut, glued and clamped the gunwale clamps.

January 8, 2012; 8:00 am – 1:30 pm; day 43 (218.5 single man hours to date). Today I hand planed the superstructure bulkheads and beams to there proper shapes. Then sanded, prepping for varnish. January 7, 2012; 8:30 am – 3:30 pm; day 42. Today I continued the building of the superstructure. As you can see her lines are starting to show. I also posted a photo of this evening’s sunset on the north side of Puget Island.

January 6, 2012; 9:00 am – 2:30 pm; day 41. Today I planed, cut and fit full 1″ old growth fir to the bulkheads. These 1″ fir boards act as part of the main super structure for the cabin and decking. There is and old saying about boat building “you can’t have to many clamps”.
