12-17-2015. This is the last post of 2015. There have been a few things that have happened since the last post.
This last April I had major back surgery, so I have been moving a little slower than usual.
I completed the 20′ Banks fishing Dory. It was displayed in the Elochoman Wooden Boat Festival. I taught two classes. One was on construction, Lapstrake and stitch and tape. The others class was on repair and maintenance.
I finally finished the small development, Welcome Slough Campground/Marina. The vacation rental is now complete and rented, the 8 RV sites with water and electrical and 3 tent sites are now ready for this coming spring. The 850 sq foot vacation rental is on the second floor of the house with a boat shop on the ground level. The marina is a 220 foot long dock. It’s location is less than a 1/4 mile to the main stem of the Columbia River. This area is great for steelhead and salmon fishing, sailing, kayaking, gunk holing, birdwatching and cycling! There is a shower and dressing room as well.
In October/November I took a coarse put on by Washington State University on Beekeeping. During this coarse I built 18 Langstroth beehive (Deeps) and 18 honey supers. I also build 14 swarm traps. This coming spring my grand daughter, Lillian, and I plan to become bonified
Beekeepers!
Today, 12-17-15, I just moved all the hives, supers and traps out of the shop and started setting up to build a Harry Bryan Wheelbarrow Boat. This vessel will be for a local non-profit. I plan to keep you posted on it progress.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2016!!
