April 14, 2012. Today I built a few pulley blocks. The cost of these blocks are near or well over $100 each. I pulled a piece off the net on Rope Stropped Blocks. I changed it a little and made Cable Swedged Stropped Blocks. The sheaves are made with a hole saw and UHMW and the blocks themselves are made of spalted maple. The cost is about $2 each plus the fun of building them.
I also have been out a couple of times Spring Chinook fishing here’s a photo of my friend Johnny G holding one of the two we caught that day.
This coming Friday the 20th Kirk Gresham from Port Townsend will spend the day helping me rig Vanessa. I plan to show her at the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival this coming Sept 7-9. I hope to see you all there!
