On September 6th, Jody and I arrived at the Port Townsend Boat Haven boat ramp at 9:30 in the morning. It took us 4 hours to tow Rachel from Puget Island, Cathlamet, Wa. After some shopping, we launched her at 11 am and made way south to Port Ludlow. We plan to cruise the Sound for a few days before the Port Townsend Boat Festival, where Rachel will be exhibited.
We landed at Port Ludlow around noon and got Rachel tied up in her 19′ slip at a cost of 26 bucks….that includes access to restrooms and showers. Port Ludlow is a small village. Well that’s what they call it. It is a resort place with a small strip mall and is far from being a village. But it is a beautiful place. The bay is completely protected from all sides with lots of moorage and tons of space to drop the pick! This place will be on our list to come visit again. Tomorrow we plan to cruise east and make way up the inside of Whidbey Island.
