These photos are from the owner of Tradition, taken while I was replacing all of her wood with new straight grain Fir. This wood was reclaimed from drifting down the Columbia River. Rough milled at the upper end of Puget Island. I then plane it and mill it to size at the boatworks. As you can see from Kirk’s photos I have replaced all bad floors, mast step, toe rails, gunwale guards and inwales. This project took Kirk and I a total of 3 1/2 days. Kirk plans to plug all the 3/8″ holes with Fir plugs then finish sand and varnish at his home in Port Townsend.
