I was asked by a fellow sailor to help him build a gin pole, used for raising and lowering a mast with a tabernacled base. This sailor happens to live on the east coast so I emailed him step by step detailed photos.

Salt Bay Skiff – Julius’s Boat Museum
Today we moved the 12’ Salt Bay Skiff out of my shop and into Julius’s Boat Museum!:0) Here she’ll be safe and sound till spring.
Salt Bay Skiff – Finishing Touches
This morning I put the finishing touches on the 21’ Salt Bay Skiff. Tomorrow we move her out of the shop. My hope is, for the Local Traditional Small Craft Association – The Lower Columbia River Raptors, to sell lots of raffle tickets this upcoming season.
Salt Bay Skiff – 98% There
Today the Salt Bay Skiff is 98% complete. A few more coats to her brightwork and some touch up to her off-white.
Salt Bay Skiff – Fit the Seats
Today we permanently fit the seats and inwales and trimmed out the green. Tomorrow we’ll sand and varnish the brightwork.
