Today I put in 2 hours lightly sanding the first coat with 120 grit and the applying the second coat of pearl gray topcoat paint. I have just one more coat to go! Then I right her and start on the interior.

20′ Banks Fishing Dory, USCG – Pettit Pearl Gray
Today I put in 2 hours masking off the red bottom and then applied a coat of Pettit pearl gray Easypoxy marine topcoat paint. Just two more coats to go and then I right her.
20′ Banks Fishing Dory, USCG – Bottom Paint
Today, I worked 5 hours sanding the hull’s faring compound with 120 grit then masked off the chine plank and applied 2 coats of ablative bottom paint. There’s a portion of the bottom I did not paint because that’s where the motor well will be cut in.

Today I put in 2 hours adding another coat of faring compound to all low spots. Tomorrow I’ll sand and start painting.

I’m back! I’ve taken a few weeks off from building and am back at it. Today I put in 6 hard hours faring the entire hull with a longboard and an orbital sander.
