Yesterday I coated the bottom, floors and frames up to the first stake with epoxy. Today I calculated the bevel on the top edge of the out wale then raised it to the top of each frame-rib by using this simple tool made of a piece of hardwood. Then clamped, pre-drilled, dis assembled then glued and clamped and screwed it into place. Tomorrow I’ll do the starboard side.
When this is complete the sheer will be very thick and strong. And in-wale will be fit to the inter top part of each rib-frame then a 5″ cap will fit to the top covering the top of the frames and Wales. Once this is complete a gunwale guard will be added to the out-wale that was just installed.
